제목: Pathway from soft X-ray imaging missions to an exosphere cubesat mission 

 초록: This seminar is divided into three sections. First, I will introduce the upcoming CuPID, LEXI, and SMILE missions that are scheduled to launch in 2021, 2023, and 2024, respectively. To understand global reconnection patterns on the magnetopause, these missions will observe soft X-rays emitted in the magnetosheath and cusps by the charge exchange between highly charged solar wind ions and exospheric hydrogen atoms. Second, I will present the mission support study on an exospheric hydrogen density near the subsolar magnetopause, an important parameter for determining soft X-ray strength in the mission target areas. I will estimate this neutral density using the  XMM  astrophysics mission data and  the  OpenGGCM  global  magnetosphere – ionosphere MHD model. Last, I will introduce the ISEND mission, motivated from the mission support study and proposed to the NASA cubesat program. ISEND will directly measure hydrogen density for the first time above 2 earth radii altitude to understand the role of exosphere in the sun – solar wind – magnetosphere – upper atmosphere interaction. ISEND passed the first-round competition with 7 other teams and is currently waiting for the final decision.
