제목: Parker Solar Probe and the Origins of the Solar Wind    

초록: 

  NASA's Parker Solar Probe has been in operation since launched in 2018, and flies close enough to the Sun well within the orbit of Mercury in order to trace the energy flow that heats and accelerates the solar corona and solar wind. Other objectives include determining the structure and dynamics of the plasma and magnetic fields at the sources of the solar wind, and  exploring mechanisms that accelerate and transport energetic particles. This talk will present a very brief review of the mission achievement over these topics, and a more detailed report of our research efforts toward the second goal. Specifically, we test the claim that the magnetic switchback phenomenon in the solar wind is associated with solar supergranulation and granulation, using high-resolution H-alpha images and magnetograms obtained with the Goode Solar Telescope (GST) in Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO). Our results suggest that tiny ejections from the chromospheric network boundary may produce seeds for the magnetic switchbacks, and thus contribute to the solar wind dynamics and the inner heliospheric structure.
